B&B Reviews

This is a lovely old house by the bay at Clontarf. The host was very helpful and breakfasts were good. Our room was spacious with everything we needed and the property is on a bus route straight into the city.

We have stayed twice at Annagh House and have just booked a third visit. John and Delia are great hosts and the breakfasts are fantastic. The room we have at the back of the house is quiet and comfortable. Clontarf is a great place to stay as its right on the waterfront with easy access by bus into the city.

Beautiful B&B. A fantastic location, just a short walk from some lovely places to eat. Breakfast was delicious, room warm, welcoming and very comfortable. Looking forward to returning next time we visit Ireland. Thank you for such a pleasant stay.

It was a nice an lovely stay, John tried everything to make it comfortable and easy. Breakfast was good if you like to have Irish breakfast every morning. However, I didn't like our room, it was in the attic, we couldn't walk straight all the the time. Bed was ok and the shower tiny. Very Irish experience with the heating though, it was cold at night. Connection to the city is perfect and sea side at the door step.

John and Delia were great hosts, and kindly greeted me into their warm, Victorian home. The location is a 15-minute bus ride away from the city, but well worth the trip. The bus comes every 8-10 minutes outside the house, so it's quite easy to get into town. Every morning started with a delicious, complete Irish breakfast--it will keep you full well into the afternoon! Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent stay. The owners were excellent hosts and gave us all the directions and advice we needed to enjoy the whole city. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms were clean and welcoming. The B&B is right infront of the water and foggy morning walks were spectacular. We both want to come back for a second stay.

Our stay at Annagh House was delightful. It was very easy to catch a bus into Town Center or to catch the Dart. The view from our bedroom window was delightful looking out over the water. John was a wonderful host-very gracious and caring. The breakfasts were more than filling and very good. We would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to be a little out from the hustle and bustle of Town Center, but able to get there easily.

This B&B is located in a safe neighbourhood overlooking Dublin Bay and approximately 15 minutes from city centre. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was fantastic. The owners John and Delia were quite friendly and made our stay very comfortable. John offered lots of helpful tips about sightseeing and getting around in Dublin and also arranged our transportation to the airport and provided us with snacks as we had a very early morning flight! We would definitely stay here again!!

Stayed here for one night, when I was in the area for work. Price is reasonable. Was not impressed by the owners attitude which I was faced with when I arrived after a long day. I had phoned ahead to explain that I would be arriving late after 10pm. When I arrived at 10.30pm, all lights I was greeted by a B&B in complete darkness. The owner answered the door in a clearly displeased state. He reminded me over and over how they don't allow people in after 10pm. Not a great first impression to be greeted with. I was led to my room which was on the top floor. It was an attic converted room, decent size and comfortable. Had all the necessities needed for an overnight stay. Only issue with the room would be the extremely rocky toilet which rocked when sat on! Breakfast on offer was lovely.

We enjoyed our stay. The hosts greeted us, helped us settle in, ordered taxis to take us in to town, made restaurant suggestions and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. The rooms were on the small side, but clean. Each room had a tea pot with coffee, tea, etc. The breakfast was large and filling. We were about a 10 minute drive from downtown but the bus comes very close by. The living room didn't seem to be available but we were gone in the afternoons. If that's important you should ask.

Very well received by John. Nice place 15 min. by bus from Dublin. in front of sea, walking distance from golf and beach. Better take earplugs because water evacuations really noisy! In case of cancelation last minute because of missed flight, you pay the full price even for the not taken breakfast.. Room very confortable with drink facilities..

I stayed at Annagh House for 17 nights for a business trip. This B&B is quiet and the neighborhood is safe. I didn't try the breakfast, so I can't judge that. The rooms are not luxurious and hence the low rate. The owners are nice and hospital.

Warmly welcoming host who showed us to our room and suggested a nearby place to have dinner, as we had arrived quite hungry. Well provisioned room, extremely clean and quiet. Unfortunately we were given 2 single beds when we had requested a double so I think communication went wrong somewhere. Extremely good selection for breakfast with hearty and delicious cooked breakfasts.

Great price - Incredibly kind and attentive owners. Beautiful location on the water - great for a morning run! Easy bus access into the city - about 15 - 20 min in traffic and €2.60 each way. I made the mistake of taking a cab from the airport - waste of money unless you are traveling with several people. It's best to take the airport bus into the city and get on another bus to the hotel at Abbey Street. For my needs, I may have been better off paying a little more and staying in the city I had very little time in Dublin, but I enjoyed my stay here!

Annagh House is nicely located on the front just a short bus ride to the centre. To my surprise the Contarf Road is not full of B&B places and the road was not a traffic jam. Our room 7 in the attic was nice and quiet. The owner was very helpful in suggesting places to eat. We ate locally at a Pakistani Restaurant and at an Italian which were both good. An unexpected bonus was the Viking Theatre, upstairs in the pub along the road, with a great one-woman play.

Our 4 night stay at Annagh House with Delia and John was like being with family. We could not have been happier or felt more at home. When we left Shannon and arrived in Chicago for our next flight home I told my husband I wish we were heading back to Delia and John at Annagh House! We were in Ireland for 22 nights and it was definitely one of our favorite stays! The location on Dublin Bay with the Wicklow hills in the distance was an added bonus.

Lovely home in an easy to find location, We only stayed one night.. Unfortunately, we had to be on the road very early the next day and were unable to stay for breakfast. That being said, the price seemed slightly high. Annagh House is within close walking distance of a bus stop and a short car ride to the ferry pier. At this location one can watch the tide come in and out.

We were greeted warmly by John, and appreciated all of the help and suggestions that he gave us for places to visit and how to get to Dublin City Center. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the house. We will definitely be back to Ireland, and when staying in the Dublin area, we will book with the Annagh House again. We stayed at Annagh house while attending a seminar in Clontarf castle. The room had one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in and unusually we were able to get a good solid 8 hours undisturbed sleep. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection and our host even dropped us to the castle afterwards. I can't say enough about this place and have recommended it to many friends. It wool definitely be my first port of call if i'm staying in Clontarf again.

I only spent two nights at Annagh House but I was really delighted by everything! I booked a single room en-suite and couldn't find anything to moan about. The whole house is furnished and decorated in such a lovely and beautiful manner that I immediately felt welcomed. One thing that enchanted me was the lovely teapot in my room. Nothing better than a cup of tea before going to bed! However, it was also the caring host who contributed to my well-being. He showed me how to get into the city centre and kept me a good company during the breakfast. Moreover, he also asked me what I would like to have for breakfast keen to consider my wishes. The breakfast by the way was utterly delicious!

We stayed in 4 B & B's during our trip. This was the least liked. the rooms were extremely small. The shower was small and so was the bathroom. The breakfast was okay. No fruits, no cereral. didn't compare to any of the others we stayed at. Owner was informative but not exactly a friendly guy. We never saw the wife. It was not a very comfortable atmosphere. Would not stay there again.

I stayed at Annagh House for 4 nights with my sister and niece. Although I have been to Ireland many times, I never had the opportunity to stay in Clontarf. When I saw Annagh House on line I was immediately drawn to the serene decor and welcoming description. We were not disappointed. Our room was very spacious with our own bathroom; we were directly across from the ocean; John and Delia are two of the kindest, welcoming people we have met. You will thoroughly enjoy your stay at Annagh House with John and Delia. Speaking on behalf of my sister and niece I can say that this is definitely a five-star B&B.

We had a wonderful stay at the Devlin's. We were met with a kind and welcoming atmosphere, a clean and comfortable room - and a hearty breakfast to get your day started. A small but nice touch BTW was the included wifi - it really helps when planning your day and cuts the cost of roaming the web by phone We enjoyed the seaside location with the city centre just 20 min away by bus, and our host was kind to supply us with information and advice on what to see and how to get around. We would happily recommend Annagh House and the Devlin's for your stay in Dublin. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The B&B was pretty, clean and accommodating. It is located 10 minutes by bus outside of Dublin city center, but the bus was very easy to catch right in front of the house. Great place to stay if you have a car - plenty of free parking. The breakfast was delicious! There was some miscommunication over the price. We requested 2 rooms, for 5 people, which we received, however the price quoted was only for 2 rooms and 4 people, so there was an additional fee upon arrival. Overall, great stay and nice quite B&B close to Dublin.
