One word...terrible! Checked in... Couldn't breath because of the odor, bathroom was disgusting.. Walked down the street found another hotel... And went back for our bags and checked out. Website is a false advertisement of what this place is, what it looks like, and location is about 25 minutes from town center not 6-10.

I asked ON BOOKING :for a room located on the river side but finally when we arrived we received a room with view on neighbor' garage side, moreover the door of our room didn't close , the bathroom was not clean, and there was Mold on the wall - on breakfast : pancakes weren't hand made- and the price for this room was the higher we paid during our trip in Ireland ! 90 € please this place is to avoid and there are plenty of other at cheaper price and better service!

This guest house is in a great location with an easy walk into downtown Killarney. It is not fancy but definitely provided a comfortable space for relaxing after a long day of touring. The hostess and her staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Management posted a framed sign stating their credit card machine was "temp... Out of order". Not true. Just a way to get cash. Then she over charged us and when Ifound the confirmation email and showed her she gave the 20 euros back. No trust in this person

Nice place to stay, the whole team is warm, smiling and very kind, it feels comfortable to stay in Killarney View House Guesthouse ! It's a 10 minutes walk to go to Killarney city center, and when the sun shines, the common terrace and the balcony are more than appropriate for some relaxing moments. The building looks a bit out of time, though, but there will be no bad surprise here !

It was very nice to stay in this Guesthouse. The living room had a nice vew to the river was very comfortable. They offered tee and biscuits every time. A cosy fire in the fireplace made the living room very comfortable. The host was nice and helpful. The waitress laureen explained the wounderful breakfast to us.

Comfortable rooms and guest lounge which overlooks the river. Some rooms also have a view of the river which is very relaxing but others face the buildings on the other side. Breakfast is served at a lower level with a view out onto the river and is quite substantial. Fruit fresh or canned would have been a welcome addition.

This was more like a motel than a B&B. The entire place had an odor that was odd. The bathrooms were disgusting and there was a pile of mattresses in the hall. We checked in, drove down the street, found a hotel room and then checked out within a half hour. Our hotel was fabulous and only cost us €60.

Nice & comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed the fire place at the sitting room. The house looks a bit out dated and it was not very warm. The breakfast room was ok but drafty. Our room was small but ok.

Our room was tiny. Sink was in the bedroom because the bathroom was so small. Even though we booked the room two months prior to our stay, our room did not face the river but the gravel driveway. The room was at the top of the stairs so it was loud as were a group of guests.would not stay there again.

We found a small room, too small to accomodate a cot which wasn't there at our arrival as we asked. However the lady changed things around to repair the situation, and we got a much bigger room for the same price, and the cot arrived as well. Nice view from the window, right on the lake.

It is a nice B&B somewhat outside the town centre and therefore quiet. Room basic, good beds, very helpfull staff and a fine breakfast in the morning. Our host Mary was very helpfull and surprised us every day with a new combination of her dress. Joan from the staff is an excellent tour guide since she send us to places we never would think of going. Overall a recommendable B&B.

Not a great experience, the room was way too small for three, no hot water to shower in the morning, breakfast was okay but nothing extraordinary, and our room wasn't on the river so no view but the sound from the road was quite loud. The lounge was nice, as was the staff. The location is good to visit the town and the national park nearby.

Stayed two nights at Killarney View House during Mother/Daughter trip to Ireland in June 2015. Was given wrong room even after they confirmed room type a couple of weeks before visit. The B&B is tired looking and rooms even more so. Bed was just Okay. The breakfast was the least impressive of all B&Bs during 2 week stay in Ireland. We were both disappointed with this B&B and cannot recommend it. We enjoyed every other B&B we stayed during our visit to Ireland, just not Killarney View House.

We stayed for 05 Jun and 06 2015 Jun overnights. I don't want to give a super-negative review, however, it did disturb us that there really was no adult "in charge" at the desk, when we checked in. The person who was in charge was young, inexperienced, and immature. I was expecting an adult to handle matters. I think it is important to represent your business with the proper person.

Beware of this B&B cancelling your booking. I booked my stay in the Killarney View House Guesthouse 7 months in advance through B&B Booking website in order to confirm a good location for new year's eve 2014. However my booking was cancelled 2 months before my arrival with the host citing a long term booking of the same room. The host also hounded two other bookings who had booked the same location on new year's eve, ringing 4-5 times prior to their arrival to confirm their booking. Go for alternative accommodation.

We unfortunately had a short time to spend at Killarney View House. However the little time we had there was very much enjoyed. The warmth and beauty of the surroundings and the wonderful staff made it a very enjoyable experience. We would chose to stay there again if we are ever back that way and recommend it to others. Thank you very much for your gracious hospitality. What a beautiful place to spend some time!

This place was the pit, the worst place we stayed at, the rest of our b&b's was great. The beds was old,the shower had no water pressure, the water just made it out of the shower head. The workers was great. we told the them when we check in that we wasn't going to stay for the second night and she informed us that we need to talk to Mary. At that time she said Mary wasn't going to be in until late tonight but deafly in the morning at 8 o'clock in the morning Mary still hadn't showed up they called her and she wasn't going to be in to about 10 -11 o'clock ..She said we had to wait for Mary she couldn't do anything. When Mary showed up the next morning her dress was hanging off her shoulder, not zipped in the back, and told me she didn't have time to deal with me, she had things she had to deal with. I told her we wasn't going to stay the second night and she said that 90% of people was happy and it just the people that want free place that complain. I said that I would pay for last night, that I don't do that. Mary said good, gave the girl €90 and leave. The quote was € 72 but at that time we just wanted out of there.

This was the only place In Ireland I did not enjoy. Although trip advisor had several poor ratings, we tried this place anyway. Everything posted is correct dirty, I have a picture of the light in our room covered in spider webs, we killed several spiders as well. Wi fi does not work in rooms and hardly at all where it's posted a wi fi area. Water pressure very poor and on the busy day not enough room for people to sit at breakfast. I had to encounter the manager whom was unprofessional. The rest of the trip was amazing .....

We dropped in twice in April. Staff were wonderful. They knew everywhere to go and how to get there. Travel books said to go in the opposite direction from bus on the Ring of Kerry... they said don't do it... just head out early. They were soooo right!!! Full Irish breakfast was huge... husband only had half after the first morning. Food really good. Yes we had cozy rooms with a pretty view and a small bath but they were clean and comfortable. Yes limited channels on TV but hey... you are on vacation... get out and see the sights! Lounge was nice and comfortable, wifi, tea and biscuits cookies all very nice after a cool day of sightseeing. We both enjoyed this B&B and would visit again.

Friendly and helpful staff, good location and nice scenery. Guest living room was cosy and provided biscuits and coffee / tea making facilities. Had only 3 channels on the television however and was the same in the rooms. Had to change during the night as heating was never switched on in our room. Room very basic and bathroom was tiny. We could find no staff to consult and tried every private staff room but no sign of staff. Had to move to the guest living room to get heat from the fire as room was so cold. Only after talking to another guest did we discover another room with heating on for a guest who failed to show. Second room much more cosy with larger bathroom and was a double-room like the previous one. Breakfast was satisfactory but no sign of the famous home baked scones advertised as a highlight on their website, only sliced brown bread, was disappointed by this as this was a major factor in booking this guesthuse above others. Enjoyed the stay but would be slow to return.

We were lucky and happy!! to stay at the Killarney View House in September 2013 for a few days during our trip to Ireland. Had we not been meeting family members near Dublin, we would have stayed there longer. It's a wonderful place with an absolutely beautiful guest lounge that overlooks the river - I could spend a day just enjoying the view. The breakfast room is lovely with lots of glass and light overlooking the patio. It's a great way to start the day. Everyone we met was on premises made us feel at home. From Margaret who met us when we stopped by to see if we could stay there to Kathleen one of the managers who greeted us in the morning and checked in whenever she saw us to see how we were enjoying our stay, it was great. Kathleen the owner made a point of stopping in the lounge to introduce herself and say hello while her son Noel - I apologize if I got the name wrong! was ever present and great fun to talk with as well as very helpful providing whatever information or service that was needed. The location is great - right next to the river and it's wonderful to hear the clop, clop, clop of the jaunting carts in the morning as they make there way to the Muckross House, Torc Waterfall and other venues which they travel to. We stayed at this place previously and were disappointed a few years ago when they were remodeling during our time in Ireland so we were unable to stay with them at that time. But we will definitely stay with them again whenever we get the chance. It's a wonderful place to make your home away from home while traveling in Ireland.

I booked this b&b in July for 2 people for the 7th September by email. Got confirmation by email and was given a reservations number to contact to make sure that my details were correct. Rang and spoke with Margaret and gave my credit card details. Arrived on the 7th to be told that there was a double booking and that we were booked into another b&b. The idea of booking Killarney View was that it is walking distance to the Gleneage where we were going for the night and we wouldn't have taxi fares. I was told I couldn't be contacted even though they had my email address and I even showed the email confirmation of my booking. On my return home I emailed a complaint to which came the reply "that they had a very bad history of Irish people not turning up this summer so despite credit card details, without a mobile number, there is a huge possibility that the client will not turn up". I was never asked for a mobile when I rang confirming my details. We were offered tea/coffee by the fire when we are in Killarney again. We will be in Killarney but won't be calling.

It may have taken me 20yrs to return back to this wonderful house, but nothing has changed in the hospitality you receive, Brendan and I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome from Kathleen when we arrived on Friday evening. Throughout our stay Kathleen and Ann couldn't have done enough for us or the guests staying there. It was also great for me to be able to catch up with Mary the owner. I hope it wont be as long till the next time we meet. From the bottom of our hearts thank you to all for a memorable stay in Killlarney!

My husband and I booked this guesthouse 2 months ago, we didn't expect what we got at all. When we arrived, Neil the owners son, he is so pleasant, he carried our heavy bags from our car to our room. We booked a double room, but they had a large family room free so gave that to us, we loved it! Once he had us settled in our room he brought us to the guest lounge which had such an amazing view of the river and their we could also make tea and coffee, they had decaf too, great for me because I couldn't sleep otherwise. Our room was at the back of the house, it was lovely and warm and spacious, other reviewers here seem to have had small bathrooms, ours was definitely of adequate size for my husband and I anyway. Breakfast was great, Kathleen there bakes fresh bread and scones which are amazing, I wrapped 2 scones up in napkins for our day ahead they were that good! The dining room was lovely, surrounded by large windows with a lovely view of the river. The house without a doubt is a bit dated, not much has been changed I would say in at least 20 years BUT that being said, it still is a gorgeous house, a lot of the other guests staying were lovely, I got to know them really well in the guest lounge in the evenings, in the lunge each night a big open fire was lit, another guest brought gin and tonic with them and shared it with us. It was so great meeting different guests from around the world and it was especially great meeting Mary and her son Neil, they made such an effort to make sure we had an enjoyable stay with them. I would definitely 100% recommend this B&B to any and all traveling to Killarney!

Hi, Cost was good value compared to other prices in Killarney and location suited us perfectly for a wedding in the Brehon. Email comms were prompt and the parking out back was handy. But the room was one of the most old fashioned and tired I've ever seen in a B&B, tiniest bathroom which was like a partition in the room, TV was in a position which would be impossible to watch from the bed and walls were so thin we could hear everyone entering leaving their rooms and conversations in the room next door. While handy location and on this occasion was just about acceptable for our purposes as we had a late night and were checking out next day, I won't be back.

I booked one night stay in this B+B to celebrate my 10year anniversary in August 2013 this was the 1st B+B we had stayed in together. I received a confirmation mail that all was in order however the day before I received a phone call to say that I had entered the in correct date on my reservation and that they were fully booked. I advised that I was sure I had booked for the Sat night but was told that I had booked the Friday and they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. After the call I checked my booking with the correct date stated Saturday. I tried to call back for over 2 hours with no answer. Eventually I got through the following morning and was again given the "ah well" attitude. After MUCH, MUCH persuasion I get the girl to book me another B+B in the area. I would definitely not re book this B+B, NOT recommend this B+B and think they need a month course on customer service. Very dis appointing

We came as strangers and left as friends!!!!! The staff were superb, breakfasts, great and the lounge with a gorgeous view was perfect. We had a twin room with good beds, hot shower and small but adequate sized room. It was an easy walk into Killarney and became even easier as we found our way around. We did get a look at some of the other rooms and they seemed quite nice. We can hardly wait to return.

It's a nice place but for 20Euros more one could stay in a hotel just across the road. The staff members are very nice. Room 12 assigned to me was of good size but the only power socket available was 8 ft high for the portable TV found on the wardrobe. Towels were very clean and in good condition. Toilet too close to the shower cubicle hence not easy to use when sitting down and I am a medium height person. Shampoo and Shower Gel available but no hairdryers. Comfortable bed, pillows and clean sheets. No tea/coffee available in the room but in the lounge room. A water pipe was leaking outside the window and it seems this was an ongoing problem since the water trail, from said leak, down to the river created a path along the grass. Fresh baked scones are to die for. Breakfast was the basic English type excluding baked beans a good idea if you ask for scrambled eggs if you are not a great fan of black/white puddings.

Excellent base for exploring the Southwest of Ireland 3 friends and I stayed there for 3 nights in June 2013. Breakfast was freshly cooked every morning and excellent. Location close to Killarney City Center maybe 1 mile; we had a car so we drove there, but in a quiet neighborhood next to a small brook. The common lounge overlooks this brook and has a real fireplace. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend this B&B.

Stepping into Killarney View House is an experience of Ireland's hospitality and service, while being surrounded in a comfortable Irish atmosphere. The guest lounge room is tastefully decorated to accommodate quiet casual conversations and the view of the river is magnifisant. My most favorite feature is the fireplace, where in the afternoons and evenings I can sit by a roaring fire and contemplate the days end. At Killarney View House you are a short distance from the Muckross House, so spend a day touring the house, the grounds, and having lunch at the Restaurant near the House. You can also spend the day going around the Ring of Kerry, or spend the day going around the Dingle Peninsula and on to Slea Head. Killarney View is just a short distance to walking into Killarney Town for shopping, theater, or eating. Enjoy, it is one of my most favorite places to visit.
