Stayed 2 wks in B&Bs in Ireland. This was by far the best accomodation we experienced.The property was immaculate both inside and out. The view from the room was pastoral and lovely but you could walk downtown in 5 minutes. Breakfast looked like something from a magazine. And Maggie...well she was a delight. Accomodating and fun. Emlagh Lodge was a joy to stay at. We had a beautiful room, with great views on two sides of Dingle Harbour and the surrounding hills. The breakfast was really excellent, and Maggie, the owner, went out of her way to buy and cook food that suits my coeliac condition. All round, she was a great host - we had a fierce rainfall in the evening and she actually gave us a lift into town, which is above and beyond the call of duty. Not that the town is a long way away - just a few minutes' walk - but we'd have been soaked. That's Ireland, though - never mind the weather, feel the natural beauty! Perfect in every way. Seriously, it could not have been better. The home is immaculate and comfortable. Best. Location. Ever. We had beautiful weather but, regardless, it would have been ideal. Really enjoyed our stay in Emlagh. Maggie is a lovely host, chatty and welcoming, helpful with tips on the area. The house is immaculate - everything was spotless - well decorated with some lovely touches. Breakfast was great - lovely porridge great pre marathon and the cooked food was really well presented. The location is lovely - super views and there is a really handy shortcut path from the house to the village so it’s much closer than it might appear on the map. Very clean. Seaview is a wonderful room with lots of space, a large bathroom, a window that has a full view of the harbor and a side skylight with a view of the bay. The Bayview room is smaller with a view only of the bay, but still very nice. Be sure to read the warning with your confirmation to not confuse Emlach House with Emlach Lodge. You must drive past the house to get to the lodge, which is at the very end of the same lane. Breakfast is very good. Juice, coffee with porridge oatmeal, cereal or yogurt with fruit/muselix. Everything presented very tastefully and in large helpings. The cooked part of breakfast comes from the menu. For example, two poached eggs with salmon, scrambled eggs with bacon ham, or bagel on a large plate surround by fruit. Maggie runs a tight ship, and works very hard, doing all cooking, upkeep and management on her own without help. Maggie was a wonderful host and gave us the heads up for an excellent evening of traditional irish music featuring the Irish pipes, fiddles, guitars and flutes. Emlagh Lodge is perfectly positioned, just outside the commercial heart of Dingle, but with uninterrupted views of the Bay. Without a doubt the best view in the whole of Dingle, nothing but grass interrupted our view of the Bay. Aptly named our room was called Bayview. Dingle was a short stroll into town. Maggie's breakfasts were to die for and even as one who can cook a mean Irish Breakfast I must take my hat off to her for introducing her compot of Greek Yoghurt, muesli and fresh fruit which I've made 4 times since I returned home. The location for Emlaugh Lodge is more than fantastic. The views from every room including the dining room are spectacular. Stroll down the path to the lighthouse and an old tower. There are even little secluded swimming areas along the path. Walk past cows grazing and sheep resting along the shore. A very short walk along the path leads you to the quaint town of Dingle. The quiet and the solitude are grand as you watch ships, kayaks and sailboats pass through the harbor. If you are lucky you might spot Fungi frolicking about. Maggie is a terrific hosts and meets all of your traveling needs. She has loads of information about the local places and a bit of history to go along with it. She gives great suggestion of places to visit, tour and eat. Murphy's ice cream shop was one of them. Her breakfast menu has a wide variety of tasty treats cooked to perfection. The bedrooms are clean, bright and quiet. Very seldom did we hear another guest. Watch your head on the alcoves. The views are astonishing from the bedroom windows. The view was absolutely amazing!!! I wish we had booked more days here it was absolutely lovely! Our host had a surprising selection for breakfast from the traditional Full Irish breakfast to a more unique Dingle seashore salmon breakfast. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable and we had a big tub in our bathroom. We would have stayed more than one night but they were booked. We had decided to stay another night since both Dingle and the B&B were so charming. Our host was so kind and called other local B&Bs and found us another in Dingle. Another big positive for us was that we were able to leave the car and walked into town. We found a wonderful pub with live music, delicious food, and local beer on tap.
