B&B Reviews
Looking for Boyne Valley accommodations, we chose Lougher Farm B&B for its quiet country setting and its proximity to Newgrange. A comfortable farmhouse just 5 minutes from Newgrange, the B&B is a fine home base for visiting the area. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was fine. Patricia provides guests with discount vouchers for admission to Newgrange. She and her husband Thomas were welcoming and thoughtful hosts.

Best B&B we stayed in on our trip in the emerald isle. Fantastic breakfast and a wonderful host. We actually got our dates mixed up and had booked for September and showed up at the B&B with my wife and young son in August a month earlier - the wonderful host gave us a room anyway ! If you're going anyway near Newgrange or the surrounding area stay in this B&B - you won't be disappointed. Absolutely perfect !

Cute place, really nice hostess. We were only there for one night but Patricia was really accommodating to our busy schedule : A little off the beaten path, but close to Bru Na Boinne

Our stay at Lougher Farm was lovely. Very close to Newgrange. Our bedroom was spacious and clean and the heating pads on the beds was a very nice touch. Patricia made sure we were comfortable and very well fed. I enjoyed chatting with her and would highly recommend staying here to all of my friends. You won't be disappointed.

My friends and I had the most wonderful stay at Lougher Farm. Patricia's warm Irish hospitality, delicious breakfast and her lovely scones that my friend described as the best ever! Highly recommended, good nice drive into the countryside and only 5mins to Bru na Boinne, about an hour to Dublin.

Lovely spacious B & B with a most welcoming and helpful hostess. Although apparently in the middle of nowhere it was easy to find and only 5 minutes drive from the Newgrange visitor Centre. Patricia recommended a restaurant in Duleek only ten minutes away and booked us in there and also booked us an early morning tour of Newgrange.

We had a lovely stay. Patricia couldn't have been more welcoming and directed us to an amazing local restaurant the Spire - really good food, elegant surroundings, very reasonable prices. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast ample and tasty, and Patricia had our tour tickets all arranged and sent us off in good time with clear directions. I only wish we had been able to stay another night. Highly recommended.

perfect location for if you want to see newgrange and knowth. You have to be early at the visitors centre and this B&B is really close by. Bit hard to find with the gps, but guess that has something to do with odd addresses in ireland...

My mother and I stayed for 2 nights at Lougher Farm. It is in a beautiful rural area and although quite small the room was very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. Patricia's son met us upon arrival and settled us in. The next morning Patricia cooked us a delicious breakfast and arranged tickets for us for Newgrange so we didn't have to queue. I would definitely recommend this lovely farmhouse accommodation for anyone visiting the Boyne Valley area.

Very nice place, great breakfast. Very tidy. Outstanding sitting/living room and dining room! Rented two rooms, one large, one quite small. Perfect location for visiting Newgrange and Drogheda. Ms. Patricia is the best!!! We would stay again, but would ask for the larger rooms, if possible.

We spent our last night in Ireland at Lougher Farm B&B. It was very nice, and so was our hostess, Patricia. Our room was a bit small, but we were only staying one night. Every bedroom has its own sink, toilet and shower within the room!! Breakfast was wonderful. Our visit was May 2, 2015

Patricia was welcoming and helpful. Her house is lovely. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, served in a sunny and airy dining room. Her farm is quite large and yet she runs a very nice B&B as well. Charlie and Fred the family dogs helped us not miss ours so much! Drove to the bus station and took a bus into Dublin. Easily done. We drove into Slane one night and saw the best pub jam session I've ever seen, and I've been to Ireland 2 dozen times! The next morning, Patricia booked us at Newgrange and sent us off with a discount as well. Going back soon.

Great location, very comfortable room, and good breakfast. In-room internet was not working when we were there so needed to connect in the sitting room; not a big issue as it was very comfortable to catch up and plan the next day from a 'living room' type of setting. Overall, very pleased and will return/recommend.

We stayed here in May. It was delightful. Immaculately clean. Nice hot showers and big fluffy towels. Great breakfast. It was very close to Newgrange and the Hill of Slane. Like every other reviewer, I have to say that Patricia is a wonderful host. He is so personable, and was more than willing to engage in conversations with us. We met the whole family, and everyone was so polite, including their little dog. We loved our time there only 2 days--wish it could have been more.

Very comfortable stay with caring people in clean rooms with a great breakfast. It's located within just a couple miles of Newgrange, for which our wonderful hostess secured discount tickets. We were able to go early and avoid long lines. Also close to many other wonderful sites, as well as scenic villages. Lots to see and do in the area. I also liked the secure website for booking. Thanks, Patricia!

Great host and nice accommodations. Owner was very helpful in getting us into Newgrange historic site at early time so we could catch ferry. Remote country location with good directions needed. Need booster for wifi so reaches bedrooms. Only worked in front room.

We booked based on the positive reviews on this site and found Patricia's place to be just as described. The setting is pretty, the rooms immaculate, and the breakfasts extensive and delicious. Patricia is a lovely hostess. We used the discount she was able to arrange for us as a B&B owner to visit the neolithic tombs and she graciously phoned to make sure we could get into the site. Some have mentioned that the rooms are small, and yes ours was-- but our friend's room was not. Given all that was offered, the room size did not matter. We recommend this spot.

There is not enough room in this comments section to list all the wonderful benefits of staying at the Lougher Farms B&B, so I'll mention just a few: price, quality, food, amazing hostess, and located within eyesight of the infamous NewGrange Megalithic Site she even "called ahead" to enable us to "cut to the front of the line" and get on the tour immediately!. Highly Recommended!

This is a lovely B&B off the beaten path in a rural setting, which makes it nice for walking around before retiring for the night. Less than 2 miles from the visitor center at Newgrange. Patricia called ahead to make reservations for us which was great. She gives her guests the option of having either a full breakfast or just continental for a discount.

Highly recommend! The accommodations were idyllic and close to Newgrange and Knowth. We were about 30 min. from Dublin, so this is great if you want to enjoy the city but not its noise. We got many cuddles from Fred, the family dog, and the warmest of receptions from Patricia, the proprietress. The room was clean and cozy and the beds were so comfortable. Outdoes many fancy American B&Bs, but at less than half the price incredible value for Ireland. We chose the continental breakfast, but even that felt like a treat. When we return, we will seek out this place and stay again and try the full Irish breakfast! We stayed at 7 different places in 7 different cities, and this was the best.

This is a great B&B and very very centrally located to Newgrange and other attractions in the area. Patricia was so very kind--she already had timed tickets for us and we didn't have to wait in line and since it was the first Weds of the month the admission was free. She is a very caring and sweet person, the room was clean and comfortable and easy to find. We would recommend to anyone and would gladly stay here again. Thanks Patricia, for your kindness.

Fred the family dog met us on our arrival and we were well received by the humans as well. We had a wonderful several day stay at Lougher Farm. The surrounding country is marvelous. The short drive to Slane made a late meal at the local hotel convenient. We could not ask for better hosts or accommodations. We would buy in the area since the people we met were so friendly. It is a great place to rest and see the area to include Newgrange and other fantastic sights. If you have not stayed here you are missing an opportunity. Great coffee is a wonderful plus.

Family of 4, 2 nights, 2 double-rooms. Pittoresk place, in close neighbourhood to Newgrange. Rooms rather small she smallest we experienced on our trip through Ireland. During our stay, Patricia was a bit absorbed by the upcoming wedding of her daughter, so there were not many chances to ask or chat. The bathroom was smelly, maybe due to a problem with the domestic help, of which she reported and which will probably be solved meanwhile. Extra points for Fred, the most cosy and playful mascot, and for the very good breakfast!
