Staying with Bridie at Rock Lodge was like visiting with an old friend She made me feel right at home with a large cup of coffee ready and the patio door to the garden so inviting! She promptly arranged my reservation for day trips with pick ups at the door! I left wishing I had another week in Ireland but I know I will return next year!

Very comfortable. Excellent service. Within easy walking distance of the city and the sea. I'd definitely stay here again.

The owner was pleasant and helpful, and the price was reasonable. Breakfast was good, although not much choice. Bed was comfortable.
Not so good:
The published address is not adequate to find the B&B, especially since more than one street in the area has the same name. This causes a GPS to fail. Directions are needed.
The room was very small and had some problems: the shower drain was slow, and neither bedside lamp worked.
The B&B is on a very busy street, and the parking area is very small. It was often difficult to get in or out.
There is no air conditioning, and the sunny weather made the room uncomfortably warm.
The location may be “walking distance” to shopping and the beach, but it’s a LONG walk.

We found a clean, well appointed house, ready to receive us. Comfortable room, ensuite, and adjustable hearing.
Bridie, our hostess, was most accommodating and helped us graciously through a confusion over our booked date.
Breakfast was grand, although for the vegan in our party not quite so fulfilling. This appears to be a problem in many B&Bs, but as lifestyle changes grow in this direction some guidelines from the Association would help hosts to prepare for this dietary trend.
That said, we had a most pleasant stay in most hospitable lodging. We would willingly return here on another visit to Galway.!

Our Hostess couldn't be more helpful. The location too was great as its best to walk into town. A map with precise location would help as the first road you turn down ends before reaching B & B.

My husband and I spent two lovely nights and days at the Rock Lodge in Galway. The location is convenient to the town center and Salt Hill sections of the city.
Bridie, our host, was wonderful. She helped us secure tickets to the ferry to the Aran Islands and assisted as we navigated a car rental. She has a keen sense of humor and made us feel very welcome as we had just arrived in Ireland for the first time.
The B and B is beautiful. The rooms are spotless and breakfast was delightful. I highly recommend a stay at the Rock Lodge. We hope to go back someday.
Thank you Bridie for taking great care of us!!

Had a small room on top floor with low ceiling areas due to slant of roof. Okay for one night. Convenient for walking to city center. Good breakfast.

We really love this B&B. We stayed 3 nights. The room was very clean, confortable, and the B&B is located about 10 min to downtown by walk. The breakfast is very good. The hostess gave us very good advice for visiting Aran Island and in the room, we have access to a document filled with suggestions made by our hostess for restaurents, pubs and places to go. We definitely recommend this place.

After going through the difficulties that other guests have experienced, because the road it is on is split into 2 sections. The host was helpfull and pleasant. The walk into town was easy and breakfast, although basic, did the job.
Australia (June, 2016)
The room was fine but very small. the only issue is the check out time - 10:30am! i have never been asked to leave that early... The breakfast was nice but my husband couldn’t get over the 1 sausage he got...
Ireland (March, 2016)

Rock Lodge B&B is very well furnished, and the attention to detail with cleanliness is unmatched. Within walking distance of Galway City Centre, generous and well-cooked breakfasts and a very courteous and amiable landlord. We absolutely enjoyed our stay, and would most certainly come back for another visit!
Switzerland (November, 2015)
I didnt get any answer to my booking so i just took a chance and arrived off the cuff. When I arrived that evening the landlady had literally just arrived back from holidays. She was warm and welcoming. The room was clean tidy and warm. I would definitely recommend this b and b and the location is great its only a 7 minute walk to spanish arch but nice and quiet for a good nights sleep! I would return.
Ireland (October, 2015)
Nice place, land lady very kind, perfect location!
Italy (October, 2015)
Bridie made us feel right at home! She helped us to arrange for our tour to the Cliffs of Moher even calling to check why they were a little late. She was great to visit with. Her breakfasts were really good, and the bedrooms immaculate including private showers. I would highly recommend staying here!
Canada (September, 2015)
Nice location close to Galway Bay but a good hike into downtown. Owner is lovely. Very clean and neat room and B & B. Bathroom adequate but tiny. Breakfast served beautifully.
Canada (September, 2015)
Dog poop in our room, mouldy ceiling in the bathroom. Very small room plus roof slope, extremely small bathroom, grubby place. Poor breakfast, little choice. No price reduction despite our discomfort on the first day. Worst stay throughout our Irelandtrip. Way to expensive considering the equivalent.
Germany (September, 2015)
Very nice stay. Bridie was very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Room was comfortable and clean.
United States (September, 2015)
Birdie was a very kind host. She went out of her way to help us as we stayed for two nights at her B&B.
Canada (August, 2015)
Clean and comfortable room near to the center. Very good trip advices and breakfast.
Germany (August, 2015)
a high-style house, with luxury furnishing; the room was large and well-equiped; the owner was very warm. Prices not very cheap
Italy (August, 2015)
Bedroom incredibly small, two suitcases took up the entire floor space. Bathroom tiny, like on a cruise ship. The door to the bathroom closed with a magnetic fastener. I did not take a shower no room, my husband did and water leaked onto the kitchen floor below! Fortunately not into the Irish breakfasts which were very good. Pat the owner very pleasant and informative about the town.
United States (August, 2015)
My mother and I loved our stay at the rocklodge. Everyone was so helpful. I cannot emphasize enough how much Bridie cares for her guests. We would recommend this b&b to anyone staying in Galway.

Sweden (November, 2014)
Nice place with friendly people a few minutes walk from city center.
Sweden (September, 2014)
The room and breakfast were good and the host friendly and helpful. The location is in a well-kept residential area an easy walk from centre city. Walking the other direction gives you a great view of Galway Bay and the beach along the Great-Atlantic-Way.
Switzerland (August, 2014)
Very nice and clean. The owner is very kind and makes an excellent Irish breakfast. Not very easy to find, because there are many "Whitestrand" in Galway road, street, lane... so you'd better call by phone before check in, so that the owner can come and "rescue" you.
