Killarney View House is very convenient the town and attractions. The hosts are most welcoming and very helpful and gave wonderful recommendations. The lounge was very comfortable and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious, The rooms, however were very spartan and really need updating. The bed was very uncomfortable.

Our stay was good. The room was sufficient, not very homey or as welcoming as other bed and breakfasts, but comfortable enough. Felt a bit institutional.
Breakfast was very good.

This guest house is in a great location with an easy walk into downtown Killarney. It is not fancy but definitely provided a comfortable space for relaxing after a long day of touring. The hostess and her staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Nice place to stay, the whole team is warm, smiling and very kind, it feels comfortable to stay in Killarney View House Guesthouse ! It's a 10 minutes walk to go to Killarney city center, and when the sun shines, the common terrace and the balcony are more than appropriate for some relaxing moments.
The building looks a bit out of time, though, but there will be no bad surprise here !

We loved this guesthouse. Everyone was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are basic, but clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay even though it was too short.
United States (May, 2016)
Comfortable rooms and guest lounge which overlooks the river. Some rooms also have a view of the river which is very relaxing but others face the buildings on the other side.
Breakfast is served at a lower level with a view out onto the river and is quite substantial. Fruit fresh or canned would have been a welcome addition.

Nice & comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed the fire place at the sitting room. The house looks a bit out dated and it was not very warm. The breakfast room was ok but drafty. Our room was small but ok.

We found a small room, too small to accomodate a cot which wasn't there at our arrival as we asked. However the lady changed things around to repair the situation, and we got a much bigger room for the same price, and the cot arrived as well.
Nice view from the window, right on the lake.

friendly welcome and helpful waiting staff for breakfast; good choice breakfast; very small room and bathroom, shower adequate; dangerous step in the lounge which we tripped up and down at times; could up date the info in visitors folder in lounge

It is a nice B&B somewhat outside the town centre and therefore quiet. Room basic, good beds, very helpfull staff and a fine breakfast in the morning. Our host Mary was very helpfull and surprised us every day with a new combination of her dress. Joan from the staff is an excellent tour guide since she send us to places we never would think of going.
Overall a recommendable B&B.

We unfortunately had a short time to spend at Killarney View House. However the little time we had there was very much enjoyed. The warmth and beauty of the surroundings and the wonderful staff made it a very enjoyable experience. We would chose to stay there again if we are ever back that way and recommend it to others. Thank you very much for your gracious hospitality. What a beautiful place to spend some time!

We dropped in twice in April.
Staff were wonderful. They knew everywhere to go and how to get there. Travel books said to go in the opposite direction from bus on the Ring of Kerry... they said don't do it... just head out early. They were soooo right!!!
Full Irish breakfast was huge... husband only had half after the first morning. Food really good.
Yes we had cozy rooms with a pretty view and a small bath but they were clean and comfortable. Yes limited channels on TV but hey... you are on vacation... get out and see the sights!
Lounge was nice and comfortable, wifi, tea and biscuits cookies all very nice after a cool day of sightseeing.
We both enjoyed this B&B and would visit again.

Fab weekend Mary and her staff couldn't be more helpful, a delightful experience to stay here. very close to all the action Killarney has to offer. Very relaxing to sit out on the verandah watching the world go by sipping a cup of coffee with their delightful scones.

Friendly and helpful staff, good location and nice scenery. Guest living room was cosy and provided biscuits and coffee / tea making facilities. Had only 3 channels on the television however and was the same in the rooms. Had to change during the night as heating was never switched on in our room. Room very basic and bathroom was tiny. We could find no staff to consult and tried every private staff room but no sign of staff. Had to move to the guest living room to get heat from the fire as room was so cold. Only after talking to another guest did we discover another room with heating on for a guest who failed to show. Second room much more cosy with larger bathroom and was a double-room like the previous one. Breakfast was satisfactory but no sign of the famous home baked scones advertised as a highlight on their website, only sliced brown bread, was disappointed by this as this was a major factor in booking this guesthuse above others. Enjoyed the stay but would be slow to return.

We were lucky and happy!! to stay at the Killarney View House in September 2013 for a few days during our trip to Ireland. Had we not been meeting family members near Dublin, we would have stayed there longer. It's a wonderful place with an absolutely beautiful guest lounge that overlooks the river - I could spend a day just enjoying the view. The breakfast room is lovely with lots of glass and light overlooking the patio. It's a great way to start the day. Everyone we met was on premises made us feel at home. From Margaret who met us when we stopped by to see if we could stay there to Kathleen one of the managers who greeted us in the morning and checked in whenever she saw us to see how we were enjoying our stay, it was great. Kathleen the owner made a point of stopping in the lounge to introduce herself and say hello while her son Noel - I apologize if I got the name wrong! was ever present and great fun to talk with as well as very helpful providing whatever information or service that was needed.
The location is great - right next to the river and it's wonderful to hear the clop, clop, clop of the jaunting carts in the morning as they make there way to the Muckross House, Torc Waterfall and other venues which they travel to.
We stayed at this place previously and were disappointed a few years ago when they were remodeling during our time in Ireland so we were unable to stay with them at that time. But we will definitely stay with them again whenever we get the chance. It's a wonderful place to make your home away from home while traveling in Ireland.

It may have taken me 20yrs to return back to this wonderful house, but nothing has changed in the hospitality you receive, Brendan and I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome from Kathleen when we arrived on Friday evening. Throughout our stay Kathleen and Ann couldn't have done enough for us or the guests staying there. It was also great for me to be able to catch up with Mary the owner. I hope it wont be as long till the next time we meet. From the bottom of our hearts thank you to all for a memorable stay in Killlarney!

My husband and I booked this guesthouse 2 months ago, we didn't expect what we got at all. When we arrived, Neil the owners son, he is so pleasant, he carried our heavy bags from our car to our room. We booked a double room, but they had a large family room free so gave that to us, we loved it! Once he had us settled in our room he brought us to the guest lounge which had such an amazing view of the river and their we could also make tea and coffee, they had decaf too, great for me because I couldn't sleep otherwise. Our room was at the back of the house, it was lovely and warm and spacious, other reviewers here seem to have had small bathrooms, ours was definitely of adequate size for my husband and I anyway. Breakfast was great, Kathleen there bakes fresh bread and scones which are amazing, I wrapped 2 scones up in napkins for our day ahead they were that good! The dining room was lovely, surrounded by large windows with a lovely view of the river. The house without a doubt is a bit dated, not much has been changed I would say in at least 20 years BUT that being said, it still is a gorgeous house, a lot of the other guests staying were lovely, I got to know them really well in the guest lounge in the evenings, in the lunge each night a big open fire was lit, another guest brought gin and tonic with them and shared it with us. It was so great meeting different guests from around the world and it was especially great meeting Mary and her son Neil, they made such an effort to make sure we had an enjoyable stay with them. I would definitely 100% recommend this B&B to any and all traveling to Killarney!

We came as strangers and left as friends!!!!! The staff were superb, breakfasts, great and the lounge with a gorgeous view was perfect. We had a twin room with good beds, hot shower and small but adequate sized room. It was an easy walk into Killarney and became even easier as we found our way around.
We did get a look at some of the other rooms and they seemed quite nice.
We can hardly wait to return.

It's a nice place but for 20Euros more one could stay in a hotel just across the road. The staff members are very nice. Room 12 assigned to me was of good size but the only power socket available was 8 ft high for the portable TV found on the wardrobe. Towels were very clean and in good condition. Toilet too close to the shower cubicle hence not easy to use when sitting down and I am a medium height person. Shampoo and Shower Gel available but no hairdryers. Comfortable bed, pillows and clean sheets. No tea/coffee available in the room but in the lounge room. A water pipe was leaking outside the window and it seems this was an ongoing problem since the water trail, from said leak, down to the river created a path along the grass. Fresh baked scones are to die for. Breakfast was the basic English type excluding baked beans a good idea if you ask for scrambled eggs if you are not a great fan of black/white puddings.

We were tired from a 10 day tour of northern Scotland and Ireland, so we were ready to rest as we prepared to journey on down to Cork for the Bird Reunion. What a lovely place to rest we found in the B&B. Thank you to the family who provided the necessities for our rest.

The Kilarney view house was the best place we stayed on our trip to Ireland. The location was perfect for our visit to the ring of Kerry and a 10 minute walk to town. The breakfast was excellent each morning and timely. Our room was spacious apartment and the management was involved and helpful.

Excellent base for exploring the Southwest of Ireland
3 friends and I stayed there for 3 nights in June 2013. Breakfast was freshly cooked every morning and excellent.
Location close to Killarney City Center maybe 1 mile; we had a car so we drove there, but in a quiet neighborhood next to a small brook. The common lounge overlooks this brook and has a real fireplace. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
I recommend this B&B.

Loved this place, the only B&B in Killarney on its own river, right beside the INEC and only a six minute walk to Killarney town! All rooms en-suite with TV and WiFi, Full Irish/ Continental breakfast included, complimentary tea/ coffee/ biscuits in the guest lounge with a roaring open fire overlooking the river, all our outings arranged at request! Free bike rental! Amazing hospitality... All for €30! Best value in Ireland, try and find better!

Stepping into Killarney View House is an experience of Ireland's hospitality and service, while being surrounded in a comfortable Irish atmosphere. The guest lounge room is tastefully decorated to accommodate quiet casual conversations and the view of the river is magnifisant. My most favorite feature is the fireplace, where in the afternoons and evenings I can sit by a roaring fire and contemplate the days end. At Killarney View House you are a short distance from the Muckross House, so spend a day touring the house, the grounds, and having lunch at the Restaurant near the House. You can also spend the day going around the Ring of Kerry, or spend the day going around the Dingle Peninsula and on to Slea Head. Killarney View is just a short distance to walking into Killarney Town for shopping, theater, or eating. Enjoy, it is one of my most favorite places to visit.
