We booked this wonderful B&B online when we made our first trip to Ireland in 2013, and were so happy with everything that we return every year now! Patricia, Dickie, and Liam have been so welcoming and accommodating, and we look forward to our stay. This has been our home base for exploring the northwest of Ireland. Clean, bright, and convenient. Who could ask for more

We had a lovely stay at Mountain View Guesthouse. Nice and clean rooms, welcoming host and a full breakfast. The guesthouse is a perfect starting point for all trips to Connemara, Galway and up north. In Oughterard closeby you find nice restaurants with very fair prices.

Only one thing missing, Being vegetarian I would have loved some fresh fried mushrooms for breakfast . Apart from that I couldn't fault this accommodation. Spotlessly clean and comfortable and more than helpful staff.

Very helpful ahead of arrival ,and ,a warm welcome on arrival.
Meets the high standards set by Irish Tourist Board. I would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending it.
It is close to the town yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the countryside.

We were travelling with another couple and we all had a wonderful stay with Patricia. She was very helpful and directed us to a wonderful eating place for dinner after we arrived. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and our night was topped off with a delicious cooked breakfast the next morning. Nothing was any bother. All in all a perfect stay. One of the best we stayed in while in Ireland.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain View - part of our first ever visit to Eire. Very comfortable, good facilities and fantastic hosts. They also recommended a terrific pub in the village where the food was great. We'll be back. :

My daughter and I had a night flight to Ireland and had to listen to a 5year old scream out and cry the entire flight! By the time we landed and got thru customs we were exhausted and i had a terrible headache. We went straight to the B&B where we had reservations but were turned away. By this time I had a sick migraine. No hotels in site so we decided to go to every b&b until someone could give us a room. Luckily our 1st stop was here. Patricia took us in, served tea and toast while the room was being cleaned and prepared for us. Our room is in the photos on this site and was exactly as pictured!!! We were in a room within 30 minutes, took much needed shower and naps! This b&b was very clean and our hostess Patricia was an angel!! My only regret is that it took me so long to write this review!!!

I have just returned from a lovely stay at Mountain View Guesthouse, needing somewhere to stay very last minute I happened to stumble across this lovely b&b and from the moment I knocked on the door Patricia was extremely kind and accommodating. The room was lovely and the breakfast was first class. Patricia and her husband were welcoming and happy to help with all my needs throughout my entire stay.
Thank you both for making a difficult trip a little more bearable with your lovely b&b. Sarah and Dave

My sister and I had a delightful stay at Mountain View Guesthouse! Patricia was a welcoming and helpful host. Our room was Quiet, clean and inviting. the bathroom was spacious. The breakfasts were filling and we loved the location! We spent only one day in the conamara area but we loved it and if I ever go back I would like to spend more time there. It was an overall lovely time!

Having just come back from the Mountain View Guest House I just cannot understand Johns review as we were in room 5 and found it to be very bright and clean and the head board was was not hitting the back wall also the door is a Fire Door and the Bed was very comfortable ans as for our host she could not have done more for us. I do not know what John expects < The Ritz Carlton> Thanks for looking after us both George

This was an outstanding finish to our holiday in Ireland. We were greeted by Patricia who could not have been more warm or welcoming.
Our room was lovely with all fittings and furnishings of a very high standard.
I required some information a couple of times during our stay and I know I interrupted a phone conversation but she didn't complain at all. Breakfast was lovely. If you want about of city experience this one in Oughterard was fabulous and so close to Connemara for that stage of a trip.

A poor B&B. Our room no.5 had been modernized but a lot of the finer detail was lacking. The head board on the bed kept hitting the wall any time you went near the bed or moved on it so we had to put a towel behind it to stop it banging. The mattress was well used and offered no support. The bathroom was very small with only a cheap shower curtain which didn't stop the water going all over the bathroom. The shower was so small that it was hard to not keep hitting the curtain. All the doors in the B&B and carpeted areas are very old and dated. The doors slam closed as they all use a hinged door opener. This results in you been woken up at all times of the night if other guests are returning to the B&B. There are at least 7 rooms so its not a small B&B. The breakfast was quite good and the hosts were fine. But overall we were happy to be going home after our 3 night stay.
