An Cruiscin Lan B&B
An cruiscinlan ,
Connolly Street , Sligo,
Sligo,
Sligo,
Ireland
This is an urban location in a building that probably dates back to the first half of the 20th century, right on a city street a couple of blocks away from the central party/bar zone. At first glance, the neighborhood can be a bit off-putting, but in general it turned out to be a good stay. Our hosts were extremely gracious, and they serve a grand breakfast. They were very helpful in assisting us with navigation in the city, which is quite walkable and very lovely.
Accessibility note: the rooms are all up at least one flight of stairs, and there is no lift. We were able to manage but wheelchair users should look elsewhere.
This B&B has a "no alcohol on premises" rule. While of course the facility is the home of the innkeepers and they have the absolute right to set the rules, it would be helpful if this restriction was communicated to potential guests ahead of time, either on the website or by email.

Good position but quite old building; bathroom not ensuite and cracking wooden floors don't insulate room from noise.

An Cruiscin Lan
A polished “full little jug” of Irish harmony and contentment!
We have travelled extensively in the USA for our work as musicians, and are starting to roam Europe more often. Thus, we have stayed in many hotels, BnBs, and the like.
Although I often write positive reviews about good places we stay or visit, I seldom “rave.” This review will be an exception. We will rave about the folks and experience of An Cruiscin Lan for some time to come.
We chose this BnB long distance for our first trip to Sligo mostly because of the ratings here on TripAdvisor, but also

The room was very well appointed and the bed superb.Just what you need after a very long drive and a long day.Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and promptly served by the hosts.
The B&B is very centrally located for someone with business in the city centre and I would thoroughly recommend this establishment for any one who needs to stay for a few days in order to see the town.
There is private and secure parking directly next door.I would definitely stay here again when in Sligo in the future.

If you just want a VERY basic place to stay that is right in city center and close to everything in Sligo, then this is the place for you. Plus the owner and his wife are very charming folks who work hard to please. But again, the room is VERY basic.
