B&B Reviews
After a long cross-country journey, it’s was so lovely to arrive to such a generous welcome. Mary took plenty of time to show us around herself and was brilliantly knowledgeable not only about the local area, but even gave us plenty of tips about where we were travelling on to. Our room was a great size, very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. We can honestly say it was the best night’s sleep of our entire trip! Breakfast was absolutely delicious with loads of choice and wonderfully packaged individual portions. To top it all, we had home-made yoghurt and jam, such a treat! They even managed to get me some gluten free bread to enjoy it with! Exceptional hosts - we will definitely be back! Thank you!

I stay there for 3 nights. The house is lovely, clean and quiet, at 10 minutes from the town centre, and with a very handy parking, specially if you are just visiting the town. Mary and Kieron resulted to be very helpful and friendly. They gave me pretty good indications and recommendations about what to do and to see in the town. Highly recommended place to stay.

We stayed at the lovely Pearse Lodge for two nights during our 10-day trip across Ireland. Without question we found this B&B and it’s owners to be amazing. The owners gave us in-depth information about various places to go and Mary’s breakfast was the best we had! Her coffee is definitely the best! We would stay there again without hesitation.

Pearse Lodge was wonderful. Our room was quite large and had a number of amenities it was the only B&B that we stayed in with a coffee press. The hosts were friendly and super helpful, offering suggestions for dinner in the area. Finally and maybe most importantly, the breakfast was fabulous.

Our stay at Pearse Lodge B&B was delightful. From the delicious and ample breakfast each morning, to the spotlessly clean and comfortable room and bath, to the excellent assistance to orienting us to the area. The lodge has lovely places to sit and read or just gather. This was a wonderful experience and one that I would consider again, if and when we are in the region. I give the highest praise to Mary and Kieron as host and hostess. They are engaging, sincere and interesting folks. Their guidance helped us have a unique and forever memorable holiday in Sligo.

Our third stay with Mary and Kieran, proprietors. They are the main attraction. Warm, friendly, helpful, fun. Great breakfast, lovely facility, good location. Sligo is a neat place to visit. The Tourist Information Center was extremely helpful with suggestions for places to visit and things to do. Even after two previous visits, we still found interesting things to do. We recommend it highly.

We had a lovely night at the Pearse Lodge. Mary was ready when the 6 of us arrived and provided all the information we would need about the rooms. They were very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was a real treat - we sampled a number of the menu options and they were all very tasty. Portions were very generous as well. The location worked out well too as we were able to work to the center of town for dinner. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay in Sligo.

My wife and I stayed at the Pearse Lodge on July 3, 2018. We found our hosts, Mary and Kieran to be very accommodating. Our room was spacious and spotless clean. Bathroom was also extremely clean. They provided recommendations for dinner, which hit the mark. It was thoughtful of our hosts to offer turndown service, nice surprise. Breakfast was delicious. Mary gave us tips for our vacation itinerary, which was very helpful thank you. We felt safe in their home during our quick stay. Highly recommended if staying in Sligo!

Dear Mary, Dear Kieron, the stay with you was fabulous, too bad we only booked / planned 1 night. Mary is very warm and she runs the B & B with body and soul. You feel very well looked after and get a lot of tips about Sligo. The breakfast was the MADNESS and is nothing but excellent. For this B & B I can make a clear recommendation. If I could award stars, it would not be less than 10.

If I had to imagine a perfect stay at a B&B it would be Pearse Lodge. Our accommodation was comfortable and stylishly decorated. I was surprised to learn that the guest wing was not a new build the property is kept in like new condition. The evening we arrived Mary was very helpful in making recommendations for nearby restaurant/pubs. There was a very nice continental breakfast buffet which would have been quite enough but a hot breakfast was also offered. We had the chance to meet Keiron during breakfast. We wished we had planned to stay longer in the Sligo area longer there is so much to see. Next time we will and make Pearse Lodge our base. I have already recommended Pearse Lodge to several friends traveling to Ireland.

We just loved our time at Pearse Lodge. Everything was just perfect. One of the things that impressed me was the little thoughtful extras. When we returned from a long day of exploring Ireland we found an Easter card with Easter candy in our room. I thought that was so caring. Both Mary and Keiron were so delightful. Always available to answer questions. One of the things that made our recent trip to Ireland was the kind and warm people we had the opportunity to meet and Mary and Keiron were two of those wonderful people. Thank you.

We had a good trip to Ireland and stayed in good places but this was the best. They thought of everything. The bed was comfortable, the temperature of the room was good, they had a French press in the room so we could start the day right. The breakfast was delicious. Really the best part was how welcoming Mary and Kiernan were. They gave us great restaurant suggestions and seemed genuinely interested that we enjoyed Sligo.i think we'll go back to Sligo just so we can stay at Pearse Lodge again.

A great place to stay. Kieron and Mary are really warm, welcoming and easy-going hosts. They have high professional standards and also have a lovely personal touch which makes a stay here much preferable to being in a hotel. They were very responsive to our needs, very well informed about the pleasures of Sligo and the surrounding area and made us feel very comfortable and 'at home' throughout our 3 night stay. Our room was very clean, well equipped and a cosy relaxing and peaceful place to return to after a day out sightseeing etc. We really enjoyed our breakfasts - generous provision with lots of choice from both both traditional and modern dishes - and great coffee - and I didn't need to eat again till the evening! The location is an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Sligo and there is good parking on the premises. Excellent value for money and we would definitely choose to stay with them again next time we are in Sligo.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pearse Lodge. The room was very clean and cozy . The breakfast was delicious and delightful as Mary goes the extra distance. Owners Mary and Kieran helped us with our trip agenda and suggested going to Belfast for the "Black Cab tours". We very much appreciated their recommendations. Our family stayed at Pearse Lodge for 2 nights, and it was just wonderful. Mary and Kieran were excellent hosts, happy to help with plans for making the most of our short time in Sligo, providing a warm and inviting stay. The breakfasts were nothing short of spectacular, with many choices made the night before available. It's a short walk in to town, and parking was ample. In short, Pearse Lodge was the finest B&B we've experienced in many years of travel.

Pearse Lodge - Sligo This B & B is probably one of the best we've ever stayed in, if not the best. The room, bathroom and facilities all excellent and Mary and Kieron both extremely helpful and friendly. On arrival, Mary showed us the info' pack and recommended the scenic drives which we did the following day - the scenery was stunning and luckily we were blessed with sunny weather. The breakfasts were superb - the day we arrived, I wasn't feeling too grand having had a dodgy mussel the evening before so just had porridge that first morning but wow it was fantastic, with organic honey in a small pot, wild raspberries and a tot of Drambuie - not sure if that was standard or just for me to settle my stomach. My wife had the pancakes and they were also excellent. The second morning I had the excellent full Irish and my Wife had the French toast - again absolutely excellent. If I could, I would award Pearse Lodge 10 stars so it comes thoroughly recommended - well done Mary and Keiron.

This is a delightful B&B with very nice hosts. We arrived after a day of driving many miles along the narrow, twisting roads of the Wild Atlantic Way. It felt like an OASIS. Our room was exceptional with an ensuite shower reminiscent of the days before water control shower heads. The recommendation for dinner at a nearby pub was perfect for us. With an off license across the street and a wine cooler in our room, it was as good as good can get.

The breakfasts were absolutely gourmet and quite robust. Mary takes great care to prepare the food expertly and to your specifications. There is a sitting room and patio garden to enjoy. The quick cab ride to the train station was only €8,60. Our only regret is that we spent so much time touring, we had less for enjoying Pearse Lodge.

Booked there two double bedrooms and it was great value for money. My room was recently renovated, spacious, with living area and spacious bathroom. The other room was smaller but still very well looked after and perfect for one person. Breakfast was a bit early, but really good, and common areas are very pretty too. A lot of attention to details across all aspects of the stay. The location is also handy, only 5 mins walking from the center of town. I would definitely go back and recommend.

We spent 3 weeks in lovely Ireland and Pearse Lodge was hands down the best place we stayed. Mary and Kiernen are delightful hosts. You cannot miss Mary's special porridge!! And Kiernen sent us to the most interesting places that we would not have known about. The lodge is so conveniently located and the room most comfortable! The dining areas are delightful and the quality and variety of breakfasts offered were the best we had!!

Pearse Lodge was a lovely B&B and our hostess Mary and her husband were so very attentive. Our room was wonderful and the location of the B&B made it easy to get to the Donegal area as well as county Mayo. Walk into town was only 10 minutes. The food was outstanding and Mary's homemade pancakes and French Toast could not be beat.

Pearse Lodge was one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Mary and Kieron are perfect hosts, friendly and always happy to help. Our room was compact, but cozy, spotless and equipped with everything one needs hair dryer, iron, TV, Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities etc., decorated with taste and attention to detail. The location was very good, roughly a 10 minute walk from the town centre. The breakfasts were fantastic. Guests had a breakfast menu to choose from and the decision was tough indeed, because there were several tasty options. My 2 favourites were the homemade pancakes and the French toast. All this was complemented by a selection of fresh fruit. We had a great time in Pearse Lodge and would recommend it very highly. Great hosts, comfy rooms, convenient location and fab breakfasts. Early booking is advisable. It's very popular and it's not hard to see why.

The Lodge has ample parking and as stated is only a short stroll into Sligo Town. Mary and Kieran are great hosts and so attentive to their guests needs and last but not least are the high quality breakfasts. Would we stay again...........OH YES !

We booked two rooms for one night in this B&B 1 double, 1 single which is located 5 mins walk from the city centre of Sligo. We had a warm welcome at Mary's home and first of all received some helpful suggestions from her where to stay for dinner and music at the town. The rooms were clean and comfortable with ensuite bathrooms, free wifi and coffee/tea facility. The B&B offers a comfy winter garden where guest can stay and relax. The only thing we missed sadly were our slippers, because the floor was pretty cold on the ground floor... Breakfast was amazing! Mary serves a variety of warm breakfasts, e.g. eggs, porridge, pancakes and many other options. We chose pancakes, apple muesli and bagels with cream cheese - all were delicious and home made! You can also serve yourselves from the buffet which includes selfmade yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruits, orange juice. Everything is arranged in a very appetizing way. Every cup of coffee is freshly brewed and tastes very good!

Very nice zone with sofa to relax and nice bathroom. Candies on pillows and fridge for wine bottles. Breakfast very delicious served in a elegant room. Fresh fruit and original Italian cafè. Owners very gentle and smiling persons. My mark is 10/10 considering I travelled 1650 km around Ireland finding only one other B&B at the same level. We LOVED our stay at the Pearse Lodge. Although we were only there for two nights, we felt welcome and comfortable upon arrival. Kieron and Mary are lovely. Their bed & breakfast is filled with beautiful furniture and memorabilia from their travels. Breakfast was fresh, healthy, and inspired by Mary's creativity. Kieron was fabulous at suggesting locations for music, food, and drinks in the Sligo area, which allowed us to feel more comfortable with our surroundings. The location of the Pearse Lodge provided an easy walk downtown with little traffic or major roads to cross. Pearse Lodge B&B is a wonderful choice for staying in the Sligo area. The location was perfect - easily found and accessible on a main road into center city. Mary and Kieron were excellent hosts - they were more than helpful in pointing out aspects of the town such as where to park, eat, pubs, etc. The breakfast was great in a pleasant room. The room was comfortable, and as the rooms were in the back of the buiding, there was no road noise. Only suggestion would be to provide better reading lights for the bed. The Pearse Lodge was an absolutely charming place to stay. The rooms and ensuite bathroom had so many extra touches that added to the comfort of the rooms. Mary and Kieron are the best ambassadors for their part of Ireland. They were personable, charming and knowledgeable. Tip: Kieron is a serious bicyclist with good information for others. Honestly, leaving there was like parting with family friends rather than proprietors! Sligo is an under appreciated area; rather than a town for tourists, this is a town filled with real people who welcome the tourists who come to visit.

Three weeks in Ireland, and this was without a doubt the best B&B that we stayed in. The room was comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choices were varied and uniformly delicious. Best of all were the owners who went out of their way to help us sort out some rental car breakdown issues. A little oasis on the main drag into Sligo Town, this is a charming place to rest and be pampered. We had a very quiet and nicely furnished room in the back away from traffic noise: comfortable bed, ample lighting, available wi-fi. We had a delightful meeting with one of our hosts, Kieron, who gave us a tour of the facilities, told us about the history of the house and made us both feel very welcome. He was also very generous with information in getting about. The breakfast was well-presented and delicious, with a full selection of foods, including a continental buffet. A small menu left in our room to pre-order for the next morning. Everything was, if I recall correctly, organic, with many things being homemade. I would recommend staying here.

Mary warmly and graciously welcomed my daughter and me to Pearse Lodge where we stayed for three nights at the end of July. We found not only our twin room Oak, but also the common areas dining and sitting rooms to be private, clean, orderly, comfortable, and quiet. All amenities listed on the web site were provided and in working order including free wi-fi. We enjoyed peace of mind knowing we had a restful place to stay at the end of a long day. The breakfasts were nothing short of amazing with a number of delicious options to choose from, all lovingly prepared by Mary. In addition, there was always a selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, bread etc. - a fantastic way to start a day of sight-seeing. The location was perfect for us we did not have a car – a leisurely walk to the center of town where we could catch a bus or stroll around and enjoy all that Sligo has to offer. Mary answered all of our questions and provided us with wonderful suggestions for where to go dining, music, theater, sightseeing and how to get there. Despite being quite busy, Mary and/or Kieron were always available to answer our questions and phone calls. I highly recommend Pearse Lodge! Thank you Mary and Keiron 

What a fabulous place to stay. We were there for 2 nights July 2014. Felt sad to leave. They are such nice people and run a very clean, quiet and comfortable B and B. Our ensuite was larger and nicer than the hotel rooms we stayed in across Ireland. A 5 euro cab fair from the bus station. We walked it easily enough. If only they all could be this good. The breakfast is delicious. Morning we left we were late and going to miss the bus out of town but Kieron drove us down to the station so we could make it on time. Pearse Lodge was our favourite B&B experience on our month long trip though Ireland. Large clean, quiet room at the back of the house, excellent and beautiful meals, with a variety of delicious choices for breakfast, as well as very helpful and interesting hosts. Walking distance to the downtown with good recommendations for good food and music. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have been very happy to stay longer. We would definitely return, and would highly recommend this B&B to our friends.

Received very warm welcome by Mary. Room had lovely outlook. Breakfast was delicious. Mary's advice re. dinner proved most successful; we ordered far too much at Hargadons we blame Mary for telling us we had to try the chips and apple sponge. Enjoyed our stroll around Sligo and the fact the hotel was within easy walking distance. All very good.

We had a great time at the Pearse Lodge. They are located less than a 5 minute walk from the center of Sligo, with easy access to the local restaurants and taverns. Keiran and Mary were very helpful with directions and suggestions for local venues, and attractions. The room was large and comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2014. This B&B is beautiful and is spotlessly clean. Our room was very large and modern, with nice linens and towels. Coffee French press and tea are available in the room, as is an iron/ironing board. Plenty of off-street parking is available directly behind the B&B. It is about a 10 minute walk to downtown Sligo and is a perfect location for exploring the sites in northwestern Ireland. Mary and Kieran were very personable and accommodating. They were also extremely helpful with directions and suggested a few sites we would have missed otherwise. We took their recommendations for dinner and had good meals in downtown Sligo. Breakfast at the B&B was delicious and very plentiful: fresh fruit, cereal, the full Irish breakfast, and other combinations. We highly recommend Pearse Lodge and would definitely stay here again.

This was the most delightful accommodation we experienced in a month of travelling UK & Ireland, staying in a different establishment each night. Mary & Kieran, the hosts, are lovely people, with lots of local knowledge to share, Nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Pearse lodge accommodation is purpose built with a separate accommodation wing. The décor is modern, attractive, beautiful quality, spacious and sparkling clean with attention to detail not experienced in any of our other B & Bs. Breakfast was beautifully served and plentiful, the atmosphere totally charming, Mary's suggestion for a good pub meal proved perfect, the town within comfortable walking distance. There are plenty of great tourist attractions however some are closed in the off season.

Exquisite. Luxurious and spacious, marvellous bedroom, bathroom and private sitting area see the reference to "The Beech" below. Room facilities and amenities were extensive and of the highest quality. Breakfast menu was also extensive and again of impeccable standard. Hosts Mary and Kieron were brilliant - friendly, helpful, hospitable. The Lodge is an easy walk to the city centre and its array of fine restaurants and bars. The complimentary computer is a nice touch. Great value generally but really worth the few extra euros to stay in "The Beech", there is a "suite" quality about it. Hard to imaging a B&B better than this.

We spent 3 lovely days at the Pearse Lodge. What can I say! A perfect stay. Clean, quiet. Lovely people, both of them. I wish I had met the dog, though... :- The pancakes at breakfast were superb with the raspberry compote on the side. It was also available for the porridge, which also included a shot of Drambuie for anyone who wanted something different. Lovely! Also tried the salmon breakfast and the poached eggs. Great fruit, coffee, etc. Mary had wonderful meal suggestions and we tried as many as possible in our 3-day stay. Hargadon's has fab wine with great meals and you can have a private "snug" -- a little booth. Also Coach Lane -- superb meal by the fireplace. And A Casa Mia for Italian tapas. Try Fabio's for wonderful gelato. A little groc store across the street for wine, cheese, scones, etc. Wander the river and try some music at the various pubs. Marking at the B&B and then walking the 8-10 mins to the main part of town enables you to enjoy a drink without fear of the police. All in all, I'd love to return! Sligo was immensely charming, as were Mary and Kiernon. We stayed in the Oak Room.

The welcome Mary and her husband gave us was second to none, nothing was too much trouble. And the breakfast - what a selection! Where to start Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. Excellent welcome from Kieron, you are not treated as a guest but more as a friend. He gave us a lot of hints for good places to have dinner. The room : we had the beech room which looks more like a small falt than a B&B room... separate sitting area incl. Nespresso machine, design and tasteful furnitures and decoration, big and very beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower, huge bed with excellent sleeping quality. The wonderful stay continued with the breakfast, delicious, try the yoghurt and the bakery... For 82€ this is excellent value compared to other B&Bs in Ireland where you pay more an get much less. If you go in Sligo or around, stay in this B&B, you will never regret it ! It's also walking distance from the town center.

Pearse Lodge is a fantastic B&B: The room was adorable, stylish, and extremely clean, and there were lots of nice little touches like chocolate on the pillow, biscuits and coffee in the room. Breakfast was fantastic, probably the best I've ever had at a B&B. A Jewel on the Emerald Isle This marvelous B&B is a must when you are traveling to Sligo. The ambiance combines classic garden with modern splahses and are an esthetic treat and reflects their love and dedication to the B&B. We splurged and reserved a "superior" room and were not disappointed. We were greeted by the most comfortable bed we'd found in our Ireland travels, and the sitting room and bath are a delight. Breakfast was a gourmet treat. Our only regret is that our travels permitted us to stay only one night.

An excellent B & B, more comfy, cozy and convenient than many hotels and much better value. The breakfast selection was the most impressive I've seen in Ireland, and the cooked breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious. Because our visit to Sligo was on a tight schedule and arranged from the US several months in advance, we found Mary and Kieron of Pearce Lodge responsive and accomodative to our needs. Four emails were exchanged and things were grand. Pearce Lodge is beautiful, the room the eating and the social area. Beside the basics, TV WiFi etc., they have off street parking, important in busy Sligo and and several rooms are on the ground floor, convenient to the parking. Leave the car parked, shopping, restaurants/pubs recommended by Kieron were all in easy walking distance. Finally, Kieron was most helpful with travel advice for our continued trip South. Sligo is a good hub for several day trips and Pearse Lodge will be where we stay on our next trip. Larry and Susan Sweet Prescott, AZ

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night, wish it had been longer. Made to feel very welcome by Mary when we arrived. She spent a lot of time making sure we were settled in and knew the best places to go in the town for food and entertainment her recommendations were spot on! The room was small, however contained everything we needed, including flat screen tv, ipod dock, wifi access and chocolates! Breakfast was amazing - probably the best choice I've ever had. Only downside for some is the request to order what you want the night before - personally I think this makes entirely logical business sense. The coffee at breakfast was amazing! Great location - the views might night be 'all that' but easy to find, ample parking and a short stroll in to the centre of Sligo. This was our first time staying in Sligo and we loved it and will definitely be back - when we return will definitely look to Pearse Lodge.
