Ring of Kerry,
The bed was comfortable but I think we were in a handicap unit. Little odd. The person who met us at the door was nice but not well informed of our reservation. Then not much interaction with the owner to ask questions. Nice place though.

We had a great stay at The Old Cable House. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. One of the best we had the whole trip to Ireland. Would definitely stay again.

Great little BnB with spacious clean, modern rooms. Marga and Andy are great hosts, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Andy took time out to drive some of our group to the beach giving us time to look around and then came back to pick us up. He also prepare a fantastic dinner and breakfast for us. The location is great and only about a half mile walk to restaurants and the beach. This is a great place to stay.

Margaret and Andy are gracious and welcoming hosts and great cooks, and the Old Cable House is bright, beautiful, peaceful and airy — and close to Waterville's beachfront.

The proprietors were very nice, and were helpful with what to see around the area. Breakfast was very good, but it was not included in the price of the room. The room was comfortable, although we were expecting an in-suite bathroom and had to use one across the hall. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

Lovely, organized, and great people. Out of the 16 different places we stayed on vacation, this was our favorrite B&B. Other places could take lessons from them. And fabulous food too:

Here you will receive a warm welcome from your hosts Margaret and Alan. My room was large and very comfortable and I slept soundly. Meals are cooked to order by Alan and are excellent. Try his full Irish breakfast! The Old Cable Guesthouse is an ideal centre from which to tour the surrounding areas of Glengariff with its sub-tropical garden on Garnish Island and also Bantry Bay with Bantry House and garden and of course Caherdaniel is nearby too. The Walshes are very knowledgeable on the area and directed me to Kells garden near Cahirciveen where I spent a wonderful afternoon. The scenery around Waterville is some of the finest in Ireland and I can recommend the Old Cable House to anyone who wishes for a pleasant holiday.
Ireland (June, 2016)
What a friendly and nice people here. We have enjoyed fresh fish of the day made by the owner himself, talked about fishing with his father seen on photos in the main hall. Calm place great for walks to the shore. Will return sure.

Waterville is a very cute town. If i were to return i would stay at the Sea Lodge if it is available. We had dinner there and it was first class but really inexpensive. The old Cable House needs a makeover. I stayed in several other b&b's in Ireland, and for the price there are many better alternatives. I returned my breakfast and after it was cooked some more, it was still inedible. My sister on the other hand loved her experience at Cable House...so there you go

We stay at the Old Cable House Guesthouse recently and had a wonderful stay. The room was nicely appointed with a very nice bathroom with a huge shower. Allen, the proprietor served a wonderful made to order breakfast the next morning. The B&B is located adjacent to the Ring of Kerry loop and was quite convenient. All in all, a memorable stay in Waterville, Ireland

We really enjoyed our stay at the old cable house in waterville. The price was really good even though it was not clear for us from the beginning that it did not include breakfast. We heard that you could get breakfast for an additional 7€, but were not offered so neither did we ask. The room and adjourning bathroom were really nice and cleaned daily. The only shortcoming was that we discovered on our second day that one of the windows did not close properly, and could therefore be opened from the outside, which we did not really like, since we were on the ground floor.
All in all we enjoyed our stay. Margaret was really friendly and helped as with any request we had.

This B & B was awesome. The owners were the nicest people, very accommodating. We were served dinner and breakfast. The dinner was salmon fresh caught that morning and was the best I think I have ever eaten. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Worth every penny spent and would highly recommend this B & B to anyone.

Lovely old house, but very small bedroom and bathroom, internet was not working in rooms, restaurant closed that night Monday. Could not get ice. Unable to check in early because proprietor "needed a rest". Had to pay cash 49 Euro instead of credit card because of commission. That's all it was worth.

Margaret and Alan that run this B&B are fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. Even recommending a local hotel/pub so that we could experience local produce when their seafood restaurant was closed one of the nights when we were there. We were not disappointed with their recommendation or the food we received at the Old Cable House.
We enjoyed a very relaxed few days and would definately book with them again!

Found the rooms that we stayed in to be either newly added or recently refurbished. All very clean with big and new bathrooms. My only disappointment was that they were new and generic. Not until the next day was I able to explore the other side of the house and see some of the history and charm of the building. Overall very good place to stay.

We had a family wedding in Ballinskelligs in early July and stayed in Old Cable House Waterville. My mother has mobility issues because of a stroke a year ago, and Margaret was helpful above and beyond the call of duty. She gave my mother a large room to herself with a wet-room ensuite. The room was on the ground foor with easy access to the dining room and access to the outside through a patio door. The house itself is old and which makes it interesting. Breakfast was excellent. For an all-round top accommodation experience, I recommend Old Cable House very highly.

I really enjoyed my stay in the Old cable house in 2013. It is a wonderful guesthouse - With friendly and helpful people. The location is perfect and is within close proximity to everything in the area - local village, Restaurants etc. The dinning area is beautiful, it captures the morning sun. I loved the ornaments in the dinning area. It was all about the history of the old cable house - It was very interesting. Breakfast was also just delicious. Many thanks for your superb hospitality. Hope to visit again soon

My wife and I had dinner here, and stayed for two nights. Dinner was good, and the room and bathroom were very clean what I like to see. However, what made this B&B really shine was the owner. She was very gracious and accommodating, really putting us at ease. She arranged for our trip to Skellig Michael and even packed us a lunch.

This B and B was a lovely place to relax for the evening after enjoying the coastline drive from Kenmare. The owners Margaret and Alan did a wonderful job getting us settled in and then enticing us with a scrumptious dinner. Once we accepted we knew we were going to be spoiled as they made sure it was prepared just the way we liked it. We slept well and then had a delightful breakfast of banana pancakes. We then walked around and took pictures of the town of Waterville and headed on our way to the Cliffs of Moher.

We had a wonderful stay here in June. Had a last minute injury to one of our party and the Cable House had a fully handicapped accessable room that was PERFECT. Clean, and staff was very courteous. Met the owner at breakfast and had a wonderful time learning about the area. Great being off the beaten path, Would definately reccomend this fo anyone making the drive around the Ring of Kerry.
